The FURIA team has announced that they have finished signing the former Luminosity player Henrique “HEN1” Teles. The Brazilian AWPer joined FURIA on a free transfer after being released from the Luminosity team and entering the position of Rinaldo “ableJ” Moda Junior, who has now been transferred to a substitute.
This is the first roster news experienced by FURIA since October 2018, when “ableJ” was promoted from the academy squad to become the first team to replace veteran player Guilherme “spacca” Spacca.
FURIA was unable to maintain the high standard they set last June, when they were able to advance to number five in the world after having reached the semi-finals at the Dallas DreamHack Masters and ECS Season 7 Finals.
Although FURIA has taken titles at EMF CS: GO World Invitational and Arctic Invitational, the team has failed to impress in their latest major tournament, eliminating ESL One Cologne in 9th place and StarLadder Major on the New Challengers Stage with a 1-3 record .
The announcement came only 48 hours after FURIA was sent to the Clash Masters Games in the semi-finals by Sprout, which is a team ranked 20 below them.
HEN1, once helped Immortals become runner-up finish at PGL Major Krakow in 2017, which was then transferred to Luminosity in August before the North American-based organization decided to release all its players. With this addition, FURIA brought the double AWP with the same strategy as used by MIBR since Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe joined from INTZ.
FURIA will make their first appearance with an array of new players within the coming week at the Malmo DreamHack Masters which takes place on October 1, 2019.
